Fire.

Today, was our last day at the City Mission. The children did an excellent job preforming their puppet show. Minus our little distraction.

Right after the children finished their performance, the fire alarms began to go off. As my began to leave the building (not knowing if it was a real fire or not), I realized that I had left my bag with my wallet and only set of car keys.

We stood outside for about a half an hour, while we waited for the firemen to come and find the source of the fire. We still don't do know what the cause of the fire was, but I can promise you that it was probably one of the scariest experiences of my life. As I stood there, waiting and watching and hoping that my car keys wouldn't get destroyed.

I also realized, that the mission was most of the children's we were with home. Which made it seem way to real. Everything they owned was in the building. Many of them, didn't even have coats. Which was a problem because it was so cold outside.

It was for sure an eye opening experience. Something, that I would be happy if I never saw again. Luckily, however, the building and my keys were fine.
