Today, MaryRose, Cindy and I started a project for Creative Drama (only of the few classes that we haven't been talking about poverty in) at the City Mission in Lincoln. We plan to work with children who come to the after school program there, to create a play about the Bible story of Noah and the flood.
The children there, come from families, who are not as wealthily and blessed as most. It is truly amazing to see, the different life styles of people and all the bagage that comes with it. This isn't the first time I have worked in an environment like such. But all the walk and lessons in my class, has really got me thinking about how blessed and lucky I truly am.
So I would like to take this blog... to say Thank you. Thank you to my parents, who raised and took care of me, and always giving me everything I both needed and wanted. But most importantly, I would like to say Thank you God. Thank you for blessing me, and giving me the lifestyle that you did. Sometimes, it is so easy to get caught up in the material things, that it is hard to remember how lucky you are. We forgot, that there are so many people, out there who are not as lucky.
Rachel.
