This year for April fools, my roommate and I decided to take a different approach in our celebration. Instead of actual "fooling" people, because that involves too much energy, time, and planning, we decided to take a popular school joke, to a new extreme.
At our school, one of the biggest buildings, is our education building (TLEC). Don't ask what it stands for, I don't know and don't care. Anyway, in this building, the stair case to get to the top floor begins at the basement and goes all the way up to the second level. The problem is that the staircase, is in a closed off hallway, and is VERY steep. So no matter what kind of shape you are in, most people are out of breathe by the time they get to the top floor. The worst part? Some of us, have to climb "Mount TLEC" every day to get to class!
So today, before class Bethany and I stood at the top of the stairs and gave encouragement and high-fives, as students reached the top. And just to take our joke, one step (literally) further, we made and wore tshirts that said "I climb Mt. TLEC".
This has been a school joke for a while now. So as people reached the top, they either thought it was hilarious and precipitated in our cheering, or looked at us as if we were freaks. Some people, will never understand the joy of April fools! But for the most part, we got positive fed back! Next year, we are making buttons to hand out!
So for the first April fools day ever, I have successful, made people laugh!
