Reading Books.

The weather is wonderful again, and it is finally warm outside. The only thing more amazing then warm weather, is half price books at the book fair. Gosh, I love going to a college that is primarily education majors. Nerds we are.

All of this talk of books and reading, has really gotten me thinking about the importance of reading. If you don't know me, then I should warn you that I LOVE to read and am obsessed with books! So my opinion might be slightly bias.

We all know that reading is the best form of learning about new things. Reading opens minds and can relate almost anything to real life. Reading is good for you. It makes you smarter. We all have heard these things of things from our teachers over and over again.

My favorite part of reading is the connection that it creates between two people. Today at lunch, Andrew and I spent at least a half an hour talking about books that we have read. Books are some of the best conversation topics ever! Everyone reads differently, and so one book can be seen in a thousand different ways and can be concluded differently by everyone. Being able to read a book, and then talk about it, is an amazing feeling.

For every book that you read, that is just one more educated conversation you can have. People can have nothing in common, but having read the same book... and that is something that they can talk about and connect to each other with.

Every book is a different story. Each story is just one more thing that you can use to connect your life too. That's one more story that you can use to compare and contrast different issues. Reading is valuable both inside and outside of the classroom.

Go read a book!

Rachel

P.S... This blog is not on my list of best writings. But it is really nice outside, and I really just want to go outside and read all my new books!
